Fannie Marie Ervin

Fannie Marie “Grandmama” Ervin left this Earth and entered eternal life on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the age of 75. She was and forever will be a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Marie was born in Middleburg, Florida to AJ and Erma Mosley on January 7, 1947. She grew up in Middleburg and moved to Texas after marrying Thomas N. Ervin on July 10, 1965. They were blessed with three sons, Richard, Gaylon and Timothy.

She enjoyed a long career in insurance sales from which she retired in 2013. She loved attending her children and grandchildren’s many ball games and performances and never shied away from bragging about their accomplishments to anyone who crossed her path.

We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Marie during her 75 years; among them: learning to hold our heads high without shying away from our accomplishments, but most importantly, not being caught off guard answering the phone on Christmas Eve for a surprise “Christmas Eve gift!”

Above all, Marie’s mission in life was to be there - for everyone, about everything. Marie had a marvelous sense of humor and a quick wit. She loved to laugh and had a penchant for cracking jokes. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, and laughing to her heart’s content.

Marie is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas N. Ervin of Forney, Tx, sons Richard Ervin and Timothy and Beckie Ervin; grandchildren Corey Ervin, Caitlyn Ervin, Jerron Hudson, Hadley Ervin, Lauren and Josh Courcy, and Landon Ervin; great-grandson Carter Courcy; siblings Jack Mosley, Rodney Mosley, Ann Knutson, Susan Powell and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by son Gaylon Thomas; parents AJ and Erma Mosley and siblings Elaine Padgett and Ronald Mosley.

To all who were blessed to know her, she embodied strength, courage, tenderness, and joy.

The family will receive visitors Friday, February 25, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.

A funeral service will be Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2:00 P.M., at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. Graveside Service will immediately follow.

All are welcome to attend a reception following services located at 1110 Oxford Ct. Rockwall, TX 75032.

Services will be officiated by Dennis Erwin. Dwayn Lutz, Corey Ervin, Landon Ervin, Josh Courcy, Dempsey Crabtree and Chance Barker will serve as pallbearers.
