

Fay Dean Foy was born on December 20, 1932, in Pine Springs Community, Houston County, Texas to the late George Marvin Foy and Willie Dale Harrington; she was the second of nine children. She accepted Christ as a child at the Pine Springs Baptist Church. She attended and graduated from Kennard Colored High School, Mary Allen College, and Franklin Beauty School in Houston, TX where she received her cosmetology license. Fay Dean Foy married James E. Crowder Sr. on April 28, 1952, in Kennard, Texas. To this union four children were born; Brenda F. Daniels, James E. Crowder Jr., Gloria J. Adams, and Cedric A. Crowder.
Fay was a lover of life and didn't mind doing it a little differently when it suited her. She was not only a cosmetologist but also was a medicine aid, home health care professional, holiday baker (oh those chocolate pies), and in her retirement years became a faithful Salvation Army Bell Ringer (she loved to ring that bell). She especially enjoyed dancing, all types of music, cooking, baking, crafts, family gatherings and jokes.
Fay Dean Foy-Crowder peacefully passed on July 9, 2016. She is proceeded in death by three sisters Billy Foy Lamb, Monterey Foy Washington, Lynder Foy Whittington and two brothers George Alfred Foy and L. Luster Foy. She leaves her cherished memories to her children: Brenda Daniels, James Crowder Jr., Gloria Adams(James), and Cedric Crowder; grandchildren: Vonetta Watson, Chis Daniels II, Bradley Daniels, Alex Crowder, Cree Crowder, Oliver Adams, Avria Adams, Devin Adams, and Nick Adams; great-grandchildren: Olivia Adams, Bradley Daniels II, Abrielle Daniels, and Taylon Crowder, siblings: Shirley Allen(Monroe), Arenda Teal, and Bernard Foy Sr.; Fay also leaves a host of deeply beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
