Faye Lois Howard Cameron, an only child, was born September 29, 1929 in Henderson, TX. She was raised by her mother, Thelma Rogers, and grandparents, Jeffery and Leonard Harkless. In 1947, she married Clarence N. Cameron, and to this union one son and two daughters were born: Leonard D. Cameron, Pennie M. Williams and Cheryl Y. Cameron.
Faye accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Rusk County, TX. Upon moving to Dallas, she and her family joined Community Bible Church where she faithfully served as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, and nursery worker. In 2011, Faye joined Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship and became an active participant in Silver Stars, Life on Life, and greeters ministries until her health would no longer allow.
Faye graduated Salutatorian of her class at London High School, Overton, TX in 1947. She completed Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) training at Henderson Memorial Hospital and ultimately obtained her nursing license. Faye worked as an LVN at Henderson Memorial for a short while before moving to Dallas where she worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Baylor Hospital for over 20 years. She also worked as a private duty nurse for several years before retiring. During her retirement years, she enrolled and completed many Bible study courses and performed volunteer work within the community.
Faye went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 22, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, and leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Leonard D. Cameron (Geraldine), Pennie M. Williams, and Cheryl Y. Cameron; grandchildren, Michael L. Cameron (Janice), Jeferni C. Cameron (Annjeanette), and Whitney J. Cameron; great-grandchildren Lydia and Declan; and many loved family members and friends.
