Fernando H. Meneses, 89 passed away November 8, 2011. Born in Havana, Cuba in 1922 to Fe Meneses and Jose Hernandez. Educated at the University of Havana, Fernando earned a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He fled Cuba with his family in 1960 and started a new life in Dallas in 1962. He became a registered Professional Engineer in several states and was instrumental in the electrical engineering design of some of the first high rise buildings in Dallas as well as DFW Airport, North Park Centre, and the Six Flags amusement parks. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, stepmother and his wife Josefina, the mother of his daughters. He is survived by his beloved second wife of 26 years, Celina. He leaves behind 4 daughters and their husbands, Estela and Andy Jones, Lourdes and John Foster, Cristina and Bill Ball, Patricia and Jim Kutscher. He is also survived by 3 step-children and their spouses, Jorge and Karri Fernandez, Maggie and Paul Taylor, and Stephanie and Robert Fernandez. He leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 64 step-grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. We wish to express our most sincere thanks to all of the caretakers from the VNA in Denton; Lisa, Barbara, Denise and Johnnie. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, November 10, 2011 with Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the North Mausoleum Chapel.
