Florence Marie Donnell

Attended Phyllys Wheatley elementary school, also attended elementary school in Fresno, California, (for one year) Carver Junior High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She attended Lincoln High School and graduated May 1943. Florence was married to Alphonzo Leo Barnett in 1946 and to this couple 5 children were born: Bobbie Dolores Barnett Edwards, Alphonzo Leo Barnett Jr., Randall Rochelle Barnett (deceased), Nicholas Antone Barnett, and Christopher Lanier Barnett. Florence attended El Cetro Junlor College for 2 years and later attended Phillip Business School.

Florence worked in DISD food service and then as a secretary-bookkeeper Madison High School, and then she served as a permanent records clerk for 14 years. She then went on to work for Civil Service Employment as a staffing clerk for 21 years. Florence was raised in Queen City Community. She regularly attended Queen City Church of God in Christ which was named Haynes Chapel and she attended Mount Zion C.O.G.I.C. Florence was a dedicated volunteer worker at Children’s Hospital, off your rocker, AARP tax aide, census taker, and frances byrd food pantry. Florence remarried to Frank Donnell for 14 years and blended their family of children; Dorothy (deceased), Frankie, J.B. (deceased) Larry, Debra (deceased), and Sheila (deceased).

Florence was preceded by death by husband, frank; and son, Randall Barnett. She is survived by one daughter, Bobbie; three sons, Alphonzo Jr., Nicholas, Christopher; eight grandsons; four granddaughters; a host of great and great-great-grandchildren, family and friends.
