My name is Floyzell Warfield Nickleberry, I was born July 8, 1938, in Waelder, Gonzales, County, Texas. I was the 17th child born in the union of James Edward Warfield and Dora Aggie Satterwhite. I was reared up in the Christian faith. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, at 8 years of age, at St Paul Missionary Baptist Church one Sunday morning when the Spirit of the Lord moved upon me. I attended Ralph Bunche School from the first grade through the twelfth, where I completed my formal education in 1956 in Waelder, Texas. After finishing school, I moved to Dallas Texas. I met the love of my life, James Otis Nickleberry. I married him on October 17, 1956. In our union, we were blessed with four children: two boys and two girls. I worked at Baylor Medical Center in the kitchen as a Dietary Aide. I received training in management, excelling in my position. Later, I was promoted to Dietary Supervisor in the Truitt Building on the 3rd floor. I retired after working at Baylor for 36 years. I also worked at Children’s Medical Center in the Dallas, Texas, area as a Dietary Aide and retired from there after working 7 years. When I first moved to Dallas in 1956, I joined Roe's Chapel Baptist Church. In 1983, I became a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, where I held membership for 29 years. I moved my membership to East Gate Baptist Church in 2012, which was closer to my residence in the Oak Cliff area. I was a member of the Senior Ministry and also the Women #3 Sunday School class. I really loved serving the Lord, and in my personal study time I loved getting to know Jesus Christ through His Word. I became a caregiver to many disabled family members. God’s Word was my foundation. He said, “greater love has no man than this, than to lay down your life for a brother.” Reading, writing, playing dominos, working puzzles, and dancing were some of my past time hobbies, but my favorite was spending time with my family. I enjoyed Christmas time, because when our families joined together to embrace each other, we gave comfort and strength to one another. We were a close-knit family and meeting new members that married into the family, or born into the family, was a joy for me as well. I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith, I have fought the good fight, and I have run the race. On February 13, 2016, the day of the Lord, He called me home to be with Him. I will be missed by all who knew and loved me and by those whose lives were touched in some way by me. I am preceded in death by my husband, James Nickleberry; my father, James E. Warfield; my mother, Dora Warfield; nine sisters and seven brothers: Odessa Warfield, Irona Gentry, Rosella Harris, Ola V.
