Frances was born in Dallas, Texas on April 2, 1939, to Faustino and Angel Barrientos. She went to school up to the 8th grade but self-taught herself in Electronics. She enjoyed working on tech-projects including Helicopters and Airplanes at BELL Helicopter and other companies. Frances was married to Johnny Joe Arista on April 18, 1955 and they were crazy in love so they eloped to Oklahoma to be wed. They were Life-long partners and just recently celebrated being Married for 70 years.
Frances left full-time work in 1992 to be an at-home Grandmother to her grand-daughters. She enjoyed Gardening, Traveling and Dancing.
Frances is preceded in death by her Parents and Sisters – Maria and Elena Barrientos, Josefina Guzman.
Frances is survived by her husband – Johnny Joe Sr., her sons – Johnny Joe Jr. (and spouse Irene Arista) and Ephrem and her daughter – Melissa Angel (and spouse Patrick Angel) and her 4 Grandchildren, 3 great Grandchildren, 1 great, great Grandchild, her sister Irene Duarte, her brothers Roy Barrientos, Emilio Barrientos (and spouse Josie), her sister Dora Castillo, several Nieces and Nephews and her Parrot – Valentino and her Cat - Shadow, and other family and friends.
The family invites to join in celebrating the life of Frances at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220. A visitation will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the rosary at 6:00 PM. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 9:00 AM with the committal to follow.
