
Frances (“Fran”) Ann Burke, 93, of Dallas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Her graveside burial is Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery at 10 a.m. with Fr. Milton Ryan, C.M. officiating the Catholic burial.
Fran was born on March 7, 1932 to Francis Barthalemew Burke and Cora Olive May in Oklahoma City. The family moved to Dallas where Fran graduated from Highland Park High School and then attended the University of Oklahoma. After graduation, Fran, the proud Sooner, returned to Dallas where she began a long career in banking. Following this, Fran joined the Dallas Public Library as volunteer coordinator and was there for many years.
Fran was a longtime parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and active in the Dallas arts community including Theatre Three where she served on the board, and the Dallas Opera Guild where also she served as president.
Fran is survived by her cousins, Ann Adams (Scottsdale, AZ) and Jane (Burke) Plowden-Wardlaw (Taos, NM), and extended Dallas family, G. Dennis and Beverly Sullivan, their three children, Patty Sullivan, Molly Sullivan Vaudry (Billy), and Mark Sullivan (Anna), and their eight children, Will Vaudry (Gema), Marcel Vaudry (Marissa), Molly Vaudry, Leo Vaudry, Luke Sullivan, Jake Sullivan, Mitch Sullivan, and Mei Sullivan. The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Belmont Village for their support of Fran the past few years, especially Miranda for her loving care for Fran in her final hours, and Gentiva Hospice.
Per Fran’s wishes, if desired, donations may be made to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
