Inez was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Mesquite, Texas. Inez was a noted artist, and her favorite subject to paint was bluebonnets. Her paintings hang in many homes around the country, and even in Europe. She could stretch a dollar farther than anyone ever known, making clothes out of feed sacks and patching the patches on the boys' jeans. Her gardening skills were second to none, and her yard was always full of blooming flowers. She liked to make everything pretty, making sure that she was always surrounded by beautiful, bright colors. Inez also shared her gift of song both at church, and through many performances with the Rainbow Connection.
God and her family were the focus of her life. She lived with dignity, grace, generosity, and spunk, remaining mentally alert up to the very end of her 104 years. Everyone who knew Inez was touched by her special country blend of grace, love, and beauty. She fought the good fight, she finished the race, and she kept the faith... Now she has gone to receive the crown awaiting her.
Visitation will be Monday, January 30, 2017 from 12:00 to 1:30pm, and will be followed by Funeral Services at 1:30pm, all at the First United Methodist Church in Mesquite, 300 N Galloway Ave, Mesquite, TX 75149. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, TX.
In lieu of flowers, Inez requested that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
