George Murphy of Granbury, 53 passed away Wednesday, August 8 due to a traffic accident in Dallas. Memorial service will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. George was born May 2, 1959 in Jackson, Mississippi. He moved to Texas with his family in 1960 and grew up in University Park. He graduated from Deer Creek School in Mississippi. He was a graduate of Texas State University. He was preceded in death by his sister Connie Jean Murphy and his brother Joseph Kelly Murphy, Jr. He is survived by his parents, Jean and Joe Murphy, Melissa and Scott Shipp and Addie and Cooper Shipp all of Granbury. George had a loving spirit and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
