George Chester Reever, peacefully, went to be with his Savior and Lord on Friday, January 27, 2012. He is now singing in heaven. His special gift was to bless and comfort people by singing hymns and songs of praise, anytime and anywhere. Born January 20, 1919, in St. Clair County, IL., he was the eldest of six children. George met Nellie May Rowland at church. She has been the love of his life, his partner and support for over 71 years. In the eighty years, Nellie knew him, she never heard him say a harsh word to anyone. Instead he was an encourager, and would sing songs. They read the Bible together every night, even if they were apart, they would read over the telephone. They have 4 children. George has been serving the Lord since he was 5 years old. During WWII he worked at the St. Louis Ship Building & Steel Co. The family moved to Dallas in June 1950 and joined First Baptist Church in 1952. He had a generous love and compassion for people and their needs. He taught a Sunday School class for 50 years and was a deacon. He was a partner in ownership of 3 nursing homes, Garrett Park Manor, The Traymore and Mansfield Nursing Home. He also served on the Texas State Board of Nursing Homes. He supported and was involved with many missionary families and projects over his lifetime. During his lifetime he was a counselor and mentor to many people. It was his blessing in life to love and serve the Lord, his wife, family, loved ones, friends, and even those he may not know. He was a humble and gracious servant. He is survived by wife Nellie; daughter Joyce and Jim Allen; Stephanie, Candice and Fred Haun; son Dennis and Cindy Reever; Jason and Shannon Reever, Cali and Carcyn; Josh and Jennifer Reever, Amber and Jacob; Jordan Reever and Shelby Alexander; daughter Cherry and J.
