I was just watching TV, & either saw a woman with the first name, Geri, or the last name, Jarvis, & I immediately thought of Geri Jarvis. I thought I had heard a while back that she was sick, but I never heard that she passed away. 😔 I listened to Dave & Geri for many years on WLHT, 95.7 in Grand Rapids, MI. They were a one of a kind show....so appropriate, happy, encouraging, & funny. They are definitely a legend, and my heart breaks for Dave & their daughters, having live without Geri. She was a class act, & will always be remembered. 

Think of her often and miss her. Miss her words of wisdom, thinking of Dave and the girls today…

I'm so sorry to be reading about Geri's passing. I loved to listen to her and Dave on 95.7 in Grand Rapids Michigan. Their morning show always made the work day great. Waking up with Dave and Geri, "I don't wanna work, I just want to listen to Dave and Geri all day". 

We sure miss her posts with lots of insight and wisdom, she would have a lot to offer in today’s time too.. thinking of Dave and the girls and hubby’s today, she will always be missed..

Hi Dave, Casey and Christine,
I always listened to Dave And Geri in the morning on my way to work at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital.  They helped me to laugh in the morning and get ready to face a sometime difficult and busy day. Geri told the best stories and I also loved the banter between Dave and Geri and their tech support who also joined in to the conversation. It was, "hands down" the best morning radio show in Western Michigan.

I developed cancer in 2000.  It was Grade IV and I was very ill. I listened to Dave and Geri every morning while I was in treatment.  Geri shared her health challenges and she helped me to laugh and to face my diagnosis.  We became friends in 2011 while my cousin Kyle was playing for the Detroit Lions.  Geri had surgery and I went and made her dinner and stayed with her on a Sunday while Dave worked.  We watched a Lions game and they won that day.

Geri and I become good friends after that and we challenged each other to play all kinds of FB games and wrote each other every day.  She was like my penpal.  We supported each other through good and bad days.  When my sister Carol died last June, Geri supported me through the dark days.

Geri was intelligent, articulate, kind and loving and I miss her wit and wisdom about politics, religion, sports, relationships and her love for Dave, Kristin and Casey.

Dave, Kristin and Casey, I am sending you love and light.  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and close to my heart.  Your hearts must be breaking. Geri told me that her goal was to see Kristin and Casey get married. She achieved that goal and it made her so happy!

Such sadness for Dave, Casey, and Kristin. I remember Geri as a very humble, never impressed with her own fame, kind of a woman. Enjoyed our times as our girls moved through Breton Downs, EGR Middle School, and EGRHS class of 2001. She was so sweet when Kelsey took runner-up to Casey in the When I Grow Up speech contest at Breton Downs and said to me “Kelsey was great! I thought she was going to win!” Of course everyone in the room knew that no one could best Casey and the public speaking talent she inherited from both her parents 😊

I listened regularly to morning show as i drove to work and remember geri talking about her mother in bangs.  I once wrote to her saying we were probably the only two people in grand rapids who had ever heard of bangs, texas.  As we communicated a couple more times we determined that her mother and my cousin, jimmie carol mask, probably knew each other in school.  Small world.  My condolences and deepest sympathy to david and family.  She will be missed.

I was an avid fan of Dave & Geri’s radio show, to which I listened every weekday morning on my way to  teach at Harbor Lights Middle School in Holland.  Seventh graders were required by our school to have a job shadowing experience within the community,  all on the same assigned day. There were  630 students needing placement,  and the task of finding community members willing to host our students fell to the teachers. I went out on a limb and asked Dave and Geri if they would consider hosting two of my boys who had excellent communications potential. To my delight, they agreed! Tyler and Dylan were thrilled, as was I.  It was quite exciting to hear those boys on the program as I made my way to work that morning. I had a nice follow up phone call from Geri, telling me how much fun she had with those kids.  I had never met her, yet she did this kindness for two great kids.  I am so sorry to hear Geri has passed away. She left a great impression on so many of us who enjoyed her program. Condolences to Dave and the family. 

Even a few days later, there are still no words.  Much love and many prayers to Dave, Casey and Kristin...and all who will miss Geri.  She managed to keep in touch with old friends and make new ones wherever she went.  Geri made the world a better place.  On and off the radio it was clear that family was the most important thing in Geri’s world.  Years ago a boy said with all the certainty of a ten year old that “you get to see the good stuff from heaven.”  I hope Geri can get a glimpse of the impact of her life. Along with Dave & Geri We all had a very nice time watching the Concert while in the Suite at the Arena. I do however have fond memories of Geri & Dave's Morning Radio show, Geri had a positive outlook on life & always had a good sense of humor. Her Joy was always contagious, among her listeners. I had the pleasure of working with Dave and Geri on many occasions when they were with KVIC Radio in Victoria, TX and I was managing Victoria Mall. We had so much fun, and we pulled off some amazing promotions together! They were always professional and always fun to be around. My thoughts of Geri will always be as I knew her - full of life and having a great time. I'm so saddened by her way-too-soon passing, and my prayers and thoughts are with Dave and their girls and their families. 

Dave, I was shocked & saddened to hear about "Your Bride" Geri's passing. I was hoping that someday we'd have some kind of W-Light reunion and we could get together and reminisce about the old days. I may have only met her twice - Keith and Kristen’s wedding rehearsal dinner and wedding. But, she absolutely lit up the venue with her love for her daughter. ❤️

I loved the antics they did on the radio in GR.  I was disappointed when they left the air but they had other things to do. As silly as it sounds I still sing their show ending song once in awhile! God Bless Dave and the girls on their deepest loss. 

Although I was just a listener of Dave & Geri’s morning show back in the day in GR, Geri and I bonded the past few years over our love of dogs and motherhood (both of us sharing similar experiences having daughters) through messenger & Facebook. She was witty and full of life; I loved her sassiness! Geri was helpful and kind, too. So sad for us to lose her so young. Sending deepest sympathy and peace to Dave and the girls.

Geri's effervescence came through the radio  in bright colors, full of life, humor and passion. I would never turn down an opportunity to be on the air with her. "Back in the day," she and Dave would never acknowledge that they were married. But their love for each other was palpable in every broadcast. When I inadvertently "broke" that news in a Grand Rapids Press story, they called immediately to thank me for ending the charade. That may have been the sweetest "scoop" of my journalism career. Love to them both!

When I moved to Victoria, Texas it was my first time leaving family and friends. I became fast friends with Dave and Geri. Geri told me if I needed anything, just let her know. How kind. I had the good fortune to be hired by Jim Jensen at the same time Gerri and Dave were hired in Grand Rapids. We had an immediate connection as Southerners transplanted into Meeechigan. A place we would all eventually love. On our first company outing Dave broke his ankle and from that our friendship began. Gerri and Dave often welcomed me into their home and I got to know their wonderful daughters Casey and Kristen. Gerri was a kind and considerate person to me. She always cared. But the one thing that tops my memories was the laughter between Gerri, Dave and me. Obviously, we’re creative radio folks and we saw the reality of this world in a slightly tilted direction. If I saw them both today we would probably pick up the laughter right where we left off. Gerri's laughter still echos in my mind. Our friendship was just like Gerri; genuine and real. Thank you Gerri for the memories. Dave, thank you for your friendship. Casey and Kristen, you were blessed with a really great mom. May God’s blessing be with you.

I remember when Dave & Geri first came on the air, and I remember the sad day they said they were leaving. They made me feel like I was apart of their family while listening to all the stories Geri would share. "Yes, mainly Casey and Kristen" XXOO.  Earlier this year I was talking with my oldest son about Dave & Geri, and he started singing their morning song saying "Of course, I remember them". I couldn't believe he remembered that, and it was like a real flash back when he started singing it. Thank you for all the wonderful memories.

I am so sad to hear this news today about Geri parting this earthly world, I will be praying for Dave, Casey, and Kristen and families.


Years ago my hubby and I saw previews for "Chicken Run" and thought it was a joke. On my way to work in the following weeks listening to the show, I learned Dave and Geri missed the exclusive preview to attend one of their daughter's choir concerts. (They just introduced the movie and skipped out) The next morning they asked people who stayed to call in with their reviews. I laughed just listening. My hubby was super surprised at my movie suggestion for that upcoming weekend. To this day our whole family quotes this movie. Godspeed Geri. You're a free range chicken now.

Blessings and prayers for your family. I always had the radio show on in Grand Rapids and all of our communities and families are  richer for having you close. 

I started my radio career crammed into a small Cessna plane doing traffic reports above San Antonio in the early 1980s.  I would sit in the back seat on the plane doing traffic for 2 stations and Geri would sit in the front next to the pilot doing traffic for another.
    What fun we had flying in circles for hours a day, telling stories and laughs between reports.  She was such a sweet,  joyous person. I am very saddened to hear the news of her passing.  My  sympathies and thoughts are with Dave and their family.

I will miss my Facebook conversations with Geri. She was a special person who seemed determined to defeat her health challenges. I will miss her. I had the pleasure of working with Dave & Geri at WLHT in the late 80s, often doing the overnight before they hit the air. Geri was a genuine talent. Quick wit, sassy, always positive. Hosting a morning show as a married couple must have come with its unique challenges. But they took GR radio by storm and held for on a long time. I think of them whenever I hear Fast Car by Tracy Chapman which, the first time they played, they were sure it was the wrong track because it's a weird song -- and hilariously shared that opinion after it played. RIP Geri, if there's radio in heaven the saints are in for some real laughs.

We so loved listening to  Dave & Geri  during their long radio career in Grand Rapids, so many of our days started out better because of their humor and interesting news stories. I’m so saddened to hear of Geri’s passing. My sympathies to Dave and the family. It was my good fortune to have interviewed Dave for the morning drive host job at WLHT back in 1987, and during the course of the interview discovered that Dave’s wife back home in San Antonio was a radio traffic reporter. Bingo!
We hired both Dave and Geri and put them on the air together in the mornings, and the rest as they say is history. They were as good as it gets in radio, the Lucy and Desi of Grand Rapids. My condolences to Dave and the girls.  I listened to Dave and Geri’s show for many years.  Nobody since can even come close to their shows.  In fact, I don’t really listen to radio shows anymore, because none of them are as good .   Prayers during this sad time, for all of the family.

So very sorry.  The Dave and Geri Morning Show was morning radio in Grand Rapids. You two were the best and have never been replaced. You made us feel like we were all family. Monday thru Friday from 6am to 10am my husband and I had WLHT on in our home, our car, our barns or our office. We rarely missed a show. I always held out the hope that somehow you would come back to Grand Rapids. Dave, Casey and Kristen my thoughts are with you. My husband passed away too young also so I know the challenges and the loss.  Geri was a bright spot for all her listeners and made a definite difference in our lives. Thank you for sharing her with us.

I remember when they, Dave & Geri first aired in Grand Rapids.  I enjoyed them each morning as my day started and for some reason have been thinking of them the past few weeks.  Maybe now I know why.   I listen to their daily routines and their daughters growing up through all those years.  I wish their family peace and comfort in their loss.

Several veteran listeners were asked to do a TV ad for the station, and when Steve Dirksen asked me to tell him about her, I said that “Geri Jarvis is the queen of radio!” To Dave and the girls, please know that I’m praying for your family. This makes me so so sad. I've known Geri since we went to Stephenville High School.  She was a ball of personality...always smiling......she was the Head Majorette of the SHS band...….reconnected a few years ago on FB, and so enjoyed her posts.....I'm going to miss those.  My sympathies to her husband and her two girls.....I'm sure she is entertaining everyone in heaven with great stories.....we will miss you here on earth.

I met Geri (and Dave) at a few radio industry events a while back, and I immediately felt like family.  Her sense of humor was evident from the start, as well as her genuine appreciation for new company.  She listened to my stories like we were longtime friends, and she remembered me-- with uncanny detail-- despite it being quite a while in-between the times we'd bump into each other.  Clearly, that's what made her such a huge success in her career, not to mention such a draw among family and friends in her personal life. She was so natural and authentic. I feel so fortunate to have met her, and shared some hearty laughs.  (Hugs to her family.)

I loved listening to the Dave and Geri morning show for many years. I was fortunate to meet Geri on several occasions usually at an animal fundraiser. After her and Geri moved to Texas we stayed in touch via Facebook. My love and thoughts to her family. 

Dave and Geri are local radio legends in Grand Rapids. So sorry to hear about Geri’s passing. Rest In Peace. 

Dave and Geri both brightened my mornings for years, and I had the privilege to know them on a personal basis. Geri had a wonderful sense of humor and always demonstrated professionalism in her on and off air demeanor. Geri, we all miss you, but your assignment here is finished. Dave and daughters, my sincerest condolences to you. Know that you will all be in my daily prayers.

My radio was always set to WLHT. Loved hearing Dave and Geri in the morning and stole my heart when I first heard the wake up song. I would always be in a good mood after that. Prayers going up to her family and close friends. 

I also had the privilege of working with Dave and Geri as my first "real" radio job at WLHT.  I learned so much from them and will always remember their professionalism, work ethic and almost constant laughter every morning.  My deepest condolences to Dave and the entire family.  May Geri rest in eternal peace.  

I had the privilege of working with Geri at WLHT in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her wit, humor, and professional presence on air was unique to the radio business. She had the ability to make you feel at ease on the air no matter what the topic and she will be greatly missed. Our condolences, from both Connie and I, to Dave, Kristen, Casey, and their families on their loss. Rest in Peace
