Glenda Rae Watkins

Glenda Rae Watkins passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, in Cave Springs, Arkansas, at the age of 77. She was born on August 5, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Glen and Pearl Todd, who preceded her in death. Glenda is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Terry Watkins, who went to be with the Lord in December 2020. Glenda, lovingly referred to as Nanny, was a dearly loved mother of three, grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother of seven. She is survived by her three children, Kirsten Batson and her husband Brent, Rodney Watkins and his wife Susan, Wendy Todd and her husband Shane; her eight grandchildren, Jordan Batson and his wife Megan, Breanne McNaughton and her husband Robbie, Jace Batson and his wife Angelina, Brittany Cox and her husband Bryan, Hunter Watkins and his wife Hayden, Grant Watkins, Grayson Todd and Jaxson Todd; seven great grandchildren, Brynn Batson, Andrew, Crew, and Tatum Cox, Everly, Malcolm, and Walker Watkins.

Glenda grew up in Pecos and Dallas and graduated from W.W. Samuel High School in Dallas. Glenda loved cheering for her children and grandchildren at their sporting events, attending church, and playing Wahoo, a game in which she had an uncanny knack for winning. She enjoyed relaxing on a beautiful beach. She had a passion for reading, particularly the books of Janette Oke. She loved listening to music by Trace Adkins and The Gaithers, dining at El Fenix for their bean and cheese nachos, sipping a cold 7 Up, and shopping for birthday presents for her loved ones. She was truly precious and lived a wonderful, fulfilling life. She will be dearly missed.

A visitation, followed by a graveside service, will be held for Glenda on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6300 South R.L.Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75232.
