Grace Shirey Shirey Couch

Grace Alice Shirey Couch passed away March 12, 2011, embraced by her loving family who thank God for her life of love and Christian service. She was born September 9, 1922, in Howard, PA, to Hazel May Bailey Shirey & Raymond Ralph Shirey. She was married to Eddie Gabe couch, Jr. in 1942. Her beloved husband Eddie preceded her in death in 2004. She is survived by two children, Dr. Carl E. Couch, married to Jo Anna Couch, of Garland, TX, and Jena Kay Holton, Married to John W. Holton, of Chantilly, VA; 4 grandchildren: Dr. Kimberly Jo McMillin, married to Andrew McMillin, of Garland, TX, Dr. Christopher E. Couch, married to Dr. Tomomi Kumagai, of Tokyo, Japan; Dr. Jenevieve M. Hughes, married to Brian Paul Hughes, of Garland, TX and Jacqueline Grace Morrison, married to Michael David Morrison of Oxford, England; 6 great-grandchildren: Katherine Jo and Elise Lydia McMillin, Caeden Edward and Cassie Eleanor Couch and Adelyn Grace and Holton Paul Hughes.

Grace worked alongside her husband as a minister’s wife in the Church of Christ for 64 years. Eddie served as minister to seniors at Prestoncrest Church of Christ from 1992 until his death in 2004.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 14, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel with Brian Hughes officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery immediately following.

The family will receive friends at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home from 6-8p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2011.
