Guadalupe was born in Carrizo Springs, Texas on February 3, 1951, to Federico and Guadalupe Romero. She graduated from Carrizo Springs High School in 1970. She was married to Eduardo Castillo Jr. on June 28, 1975 in Dallas, Texas. They are soulmates in every lifetime; Guadalupe will always be Eduardo's “muñequita hermosa.”
Altogether, Guadalupe dedicated over 20 years of her life to caring for children in local Dallas daycare centers. Numerous children were also lucky to have her as a nanny in her home. Long after she quit work, she dedicated her time as “Room Mother” at her daughter and son’s elementary school. She tutored, baked cupcakes, went on field trips, and helped teachers with small tasks. When she wasn’t volunteering her time at her children’s school, she made her house a home. Guadalupe was always busy cooking, baking, sewing, shopping, gardening, reading, cheering on her beloved Mavericks, or playing scrabble. She was very competitive in everything she did and always worked to perfection! Guadalupe also took care of her children, husband, grandchildren, family, and friends while simultaneously planning parties or special events. She dedicated her life to her family and took great pride in every beautiful detail for each holiday or birthday. Family game nights and holidays were her favorite types of gatherings where she always prepared the best food and planned the best games. Guadalupe had a “larger than life” laugh and was the most entertaining person at every party.
Guadalupe is preceded in death by her mother and father, Guadalupe and Federico Romero and her siblings, Olga Villa and Manuel Romero.
Guadalupe is survived by her loving husband, Eduardo Castillo, her son, Mario Joe Castillo (Gina), her daughter, Christi Ana Haring (Michael), and her three beautiful granddaughters, Victoria Alyssa Martinez (Jose), Vanessa Marie Castillo, and Elizabeth Renee Castillo. She also leaves behind her siblings Gilbert Romero (Yolanda), Olivia Lira, Virginia Hernandez, Federico Romero, Maria Gloria, Mario Romero, and Bennie Sepulveda (Luis), numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many beloved family friends.
