Gwen Lillian (Lee) Prichard

Gwen was born in Beaumont, Texas, on November 9, 1935, to loving parents Effie & Roy Lee. She attended Beaumont High where she was Homecoming Queen & cheerleader with her best friend, Jerry Nathan. Gwen attended SMU where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Class Secretary and Mandana Queen. At SMU she met and fell in love with husband of 65 years, Gage Prichard, Sr.

She was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, Dallas Country Club, Dallas Woman’s Club, Dallas Garden Club, Supper Club, Lunch Bunch, Sewing Club (no sewing involved) where she held many positions and loved being with her friends.

Gwen was a strong prayer warrior and often staffed the church prayer room. She adored her five grandchildren. She never passed on a chance to babysit and planned many trips and fun adventures for them.

Gwen was a dedicated walker at Northpark until she broke her hip and then suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. Mary Tyszko and Annabelle Wong were the kindest and most loving caregivers for many years. We are extremely grateful.

She is survived by her husband Gage Prichard, Sr., daughter Leeanne Hunt (Bruce), son Gage Prichard, Jr. (Missy), grandchildren Marshall Hunt (Brittany), Carter Hunt (Michelle), Bailey Hunt (Jordan), Peyton Prichard, McKenzie Prichard, and her ten great-grandchildren.

A family service and burial will take place on Tuesday, May 31st, followed by a reception open to friends and family at Dallas Country Club 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the charity of your choice or Texas Health Presbyterian Foundation (www.texashealth.org)
