II Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
Reflections
Sister Helen Marie Morris McIntyre was born November 1, 1946, in Hallsville, Texas. She was the first of eight children from the union of her parents Deloris Hill Morris and Oras Morris Sr.
She was added to the church at an early age and continued her faith as a member of Marsalis Avenue Church of Christ. A few years later she served as a faithful member and Christian at Beckley Heights Church of Christ for more than 40 years. She loved her church family and found strength in them. She served faithfully until her illness no longer allowed her to physically attend.
Helen graduated from Mary C. Womack High School in Longview Texas where she met her high school sweetheart Gene Henry McIntyre. Soon after graduation, Helen and Gene married and relocated to Dallas Texas. They had two children from their 55-year union whom they dearly loved. Helen worked for AT&T until her retirement in 2001. After retirement, she spent time with family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and flourish. She also loved spending time doing landscaping and reading.
Sister McIntyre departed this life on May 10, 2025, in the comfort of home with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, and three brothers, Oras Morris Jr, John H. Morris, and Bobby Morris.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory, son Torrance McIntyre of Dallas, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Monica McIntyre Finley and Michael Finley of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Torrance Kalin Burr-McIntyre, Elliott Finley, Ethan Finley, and Evan Finley all of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, JW Morris and Tom Morris both of Longview Texas; sisters Mary Coleman of Longview, Texas and Doris Stokes of Nacogdoches, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
