

Helen Rose Strangi, age 88, passed away on November 6th, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on November 9th, 1931 to Troy and Pauline Nixon in Smithville, Tennessee. They moved to Dallas while she was a young girl. She met Carl Strangi after WWII ended, and they married when she was 16. They bought a home in Dallas and eventually had 2 children, Thomas and Rosalie.
Helen started a home cleaning service and worked 40 years cleaning many different family's homes, helping to raise their children, and acting as the informal family counselor for all of those she served. In some cases, she ended up working for their children when they had families of their own.
Helen was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St Augustine Catholic church. She was very active in the Church social events and worked tirelessly providing assistance to those in need. She was a master gardener, and cook, especially with baking cakes and pies from scratch. She will be remembered for her kindness, giving nature, and her love and devotion to her children, extended family, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Troy and Pauline, brothers Troy JR, Hershel, and Herbert, and her husband Carl Strangi, .She is survived by her brother, Paul Nixon; her sisters, Charlotte Howard and Lockie Parry; her son, Thomas and daughter-in-law Powel; her daughter, Rosalie Strangi; her grandchildren, Andie Strangi, Colby Strangi and his wife Rashmi Strangi, and many loving sister in-laws, nieces and nephews, and countless loving friends.
