

Henry Brannan Claxton, age 92, went home to heaven November 6, 2013. Brannan was born in Kite Georgia November 28 1920 to Henry Joseph and Jennie Lou Claxton. He married Dorothy Mae Hoyack at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola Florida, October 22 1944. The couple moved to Dallas Texas, at the end of World War II, where they raised their family. Brannan and Dorothy were married 68 years until her death on August 18 2012. Brannan was a naval aviator during the war, flying PBY's and PBM's. After moving to Dallas, he was employed as a shoe salesman for Margo's. He retired as Vice President of Margo's La Mode. He was a longtime deacon and Sunday school teacher at East Grand Baptist Church and Grand View Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and father. Brannan is survived by his sons David Claxton and wife, Mae; Bill Claxton and wife, Marcie; daughter Cathy Taylor and husband, Bill; grandchildren Kelli Jo, Amanda, Casey, Zack, Bonnie and Brannan and great-grandsons Malcolm and Donovan. Visitation will be from 6-8PM on Friday, November 8 at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd Dallas, TX 75228. The funeral service will be held at 10AM on Saturday November 9 at Grand View Baptist Church, 1401 I-30 Mesquite, TX 75150. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grand View Baptist Church.
