Herlinda “Linda” Vargas, born August 6, 1935, in Robstown, Texas, a small, sunlit town that shaped her big, loving heart. She passed away peacefully at the age of 89 in her home in Dallas, Texas, on December 27, 2024, where she spent her final years surrounded by memories of a life filled with love, joy, and the warmth of her family.
Linda was a beacon of love—bold, courageous, wise and fiercely devoted. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering generosity touched all who knew her. With a heart as big as the Texas sky, she found immense joy and purpose in her family. She is survived by her sons, Jose (and his wife, Esperanza) and Joel; her daughter, Sandra; her granddaughters, Linda and Abby; and her great-grandson, David.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Martin; her daughter, Clarissa; her mother and father, Maria C. and Pedro; and five brothers and one sister.
She made everyone feel seen and valued, and her laughter could brighten even the darkest days. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who carry her spirit forward, inspired by her warmth, courage, and unshakable love for her family.
