She was very involved in her children’s education at Holy Trinity Catholic School and W. T. White High School. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family, working outside in her yard and watching her favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks.
Irene is survived by her husband Tony Padilla and three of her children; daughter, Lisa Padilla and fiancé, Guillermo; son, Tony Padilla and wife Helen; daughter, Rachel Padilla and husband Albert. Irene was so very proud of her many grandchildren: Angel Ruiz, Albert Padilla, Jackson Padilla, Harrison Padilla, Madison Padilla, Anthony Padilla, Alexa Ruiz, Emma Padilla and Wil Padilla. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Mercedes, Leah, Jacob, and Autumn. She is also survived by her brother, David Hernandez and wife, Kim, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Everyone will miss the unconditional love and support she provided. Irene is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Guadalupe H. Hernandez and Lupe C. Hernandez, sister, Mary Hernandez Bitela, and sons, Paul Padilla and John Padilla.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 31, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gonzalez Funeral Home (Dallas). A mass of Christian Burial will occur Tuesday, April 1 at 10:00 a.m. at the North Chapel at Calvary Hill, with the burial to follow. Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, she will be greatly missed.
