

She was preceded in Death by her parents and by her husband Arturo Hernandez.
She is survived by her two loving sons Arturo Artemio and Alfredo Hernandez, daughters-in-law Eva Lucia and Maria Candelaria, her grandchildren Julia, Alberto Alejandro, Arturo Alejandro and Annalucia Hernandez, her brothers Humberto and Javier Esteban Garcia and sisters in law Maria Cristina and Marie Alice, her niece Adriana Elisa and nephews Humberto Jesus, George Anthony, and other many family members and friends.
In life she was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and a teacher of English as a foreign language in escuelas secundarias in Mexican federal school system until she retired. She was a fierce community activist in the 70’s, able to introduce telephone land lines in colonia las Puentes 7º sector in San Nicolas and the establishment of Escuela Secundaria Tecnica # 27 in Guadalupe Nuevo Leon.
After moving to Brownsville, Texas she faithfully went to church, and organized bible study with her neighbors, connecting with her children, grandchildren, other family members and friends.
A visitation for Irma will be held Sunday, September 3, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232.
A funeral service will occur Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232.
A committal service will occur Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Laurel Land Mem Park - Dallas, 6300 S. R.L. Thornton Frwy., Dallas, TX 75232.
