

Jack Cooper Oakley, 89 left this earthly home on November 2, 2022 in Mesquite, TX. He was born July 16, 1933 in Dallas, TX to Hubert and Lucille Oakley. Jack was raised in Dallas where he attended and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1951. In December of 1951 he married the love of his life Alta Oakley and they spent 70 wonderful years together raising two beautiful girls. Jack worked at Texas Instruments as Quality Assurance Engineering Rep for more than 40 years before retiring. In his free time he enjoyed bowling, traveling, computer games, and photography. Jack’s true love was time with family who will always remember him as a very loving and loyal person.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Oakley and Lucille Oakley Harmon; stepdad, Willie Harmon, his true love Alta Oakley; brother in law, Edwin Volcik; niece, Korby Claborn; stepsister, Barbara Rita Steele.
Left to cherish his memory, Daughters, Charlene Allen and husband Denny, Denise Root and husband Craig; granddaughter, Katrina Frank and husband Kevin; great-grandchildren, Dane, Kaylee and Christian; brother in law, David Volcik and wife LouElla; nephew Craig Volcik; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation for Jack will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 11:30 AM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228. A committal service will occur Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228.
