Jackie Lee Sweeney

Jackie Lee Cashion Sweeney, age 81, passed away on January 26, 2025 in Rockwall, Texas. She was born on September 25, 1943 in Trinity, Texas to Helen Juanita Butaud and Revis Cashion. Jackie was raised in Dallas, Texas and attended W.W. Samuel High School in 1963.

She married Jimmy Sweeney in 1963 and the couple had 1 child, Chester Sweeney. She was a partner in their family business, U.S. Machinery/Parts and Sales, where she and her husband worked for more than 30 years.

In high school, Jackie enjoyed playing basketball and softball. After high school, Jackie played on a bowling team where she won many tournaments. Jackie's favorite activity was camping with her husband and driving across many states in their fifth wheel R.V.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving and generous person, and that she was most attached to her dog Peaches.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Sweeney; son, Chester Sweeney; and parents, Helen and Revis (Buck) Cashion.

She is survived by her grandson, Gary Sweeney and Ashlie; 4 great-grandchildren, Donavan, Cayden, Emma, and Dean; nieces, Paige, Laury, Ashlee, Angel, and Lori; nephews, Shay, Harold, Rick, Cliff, Carl Jr., Harold, and Matt; sister-in-law, Trudy Sweeney; grandson, Tate Mosley; and her extended family, the RWC (her camping family).

We would like to acknowledge and thank Sparrow Hospice and the caretakers, Bethany Freitas, Amy Waller, Cyntoria Johnson, and Cierra Bartosh. Our greatest thank you goes to Lanny Ray Kilgore, known as Peanut.

A visitation for Jackie will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a reception to follow from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A committal will occur Friday, February 7, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
