Jacqueline Jarrett Sild

who entered eternal life with her Lord Jesus on April 3, 2025

Jacqueline was born on December 20, 1936, to Joe and Nettie Victory Daugherty. She was a devoted follower of Christ, and lived her life with purpose, grace and a heart fully surrendered to God. She was a 2 Corinthians 3:2-3 woman:

“You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ…, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts.”

Known for her unwavering faith and wisdom, Jacqueline poured herself into the lives of others – without reservation. She discipled countless women over the years. Through prayer, mentorship, and a deep understanding of scripture, she helped guide many to a closer walk with Jesus. Her life was a living testimony of the gospel she cherished and proclaimed. Her legacy impacted the lives of her children, grandchildren and generations yet to come.

Jacqueline was a woman of remarkable intellect. She attended Southern Methodist University and was a Magna Cum Laud graduate from Baylor University, where she was president of Sigma Tau Delta, a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Chi’s service organization. She received a full academic scholarship to the University of Arkansas, where she received her master’s degree in English. It was here she met a spiritually like-minded man, her future husband of 54 years, Charles, on the steps of the Baptist Student Union. Jacqueline taught high school English in Dallas for several years, before her children were born.

Jacqueline’s life was marked as a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, friend and Christ follower. She was truly loved and admired by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is survived by her son, John Charles Sild and wife Renea, of Sherman, Texas, and daughter, Catherine Victoria Sild Mason, and husband, Dr. Scott Mason of Grapevine, Texas; grandchildren, Kathryn Sild and Caroline Sild, of Frisco, Texas, Mitchell Mason and wife Anna Rose, of Grapevine, Texas and Chase Mason of Farmers Branch, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sild, and her parents.

Her Lord said to her, ‘Well done good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of the Lord.” Matthew 25:23
