Mr. James Sonny Franklin Hansen

James "Sonny" Hansen was born August 11, 1958 to Ollie Lee and Edgar Jamison Hansen in Dallas, Texas. As a young boy he developed a love of motorcycles, and a passion for hunting. His sister, Myra (Hansen) Williams notes that Sonny completed their family and brought everyone so much joy. On his 19th birthday, Sonny invited a beautiful red head to dinner and he knew instantly she was the love of his life. Margaret Elaine Woods became his wife on August 8, 1981. Elaine and Sonny would be blessed with three daughters, Melissa (Hansen) Smallwood, Megan (Hansen) Bowers and Morgan Hansen. The girls describe their father as a loyal and honest man that enjoyed his family more than anything. He shared his love of outdoors with his three girls frequently. As much as James loved his girls, his heart belonged to those that called him Poppy and he was the center of their world. James' loyalty didn't stop with his family as he made several life long friendships over his 35 years with Oncor Electric Delivery Company. James is proceeded in death by his parents, Edgar Jamison and Ollie Lee Hansen, brother in law Kenneth Woods, step-father in law Delbert Hill, step-mother in law Bobbie Woods. He leaves behind his wife of 36 years Margaret Elaine Hansen, sister Myra Williams, daughter Melissa and husband Marcus Smallwood, daughter Megan and husband Ryan Bowers, daughter Morgan Hansen,and his beloved grandchildren Tristan Jannati, Adilynn Bowers, and Kadence and Keagan Smallwood, mother in law Margaret Hill, father in law Eugene Woods, brother in law Melvin Woods, sister in law Lana Woods, and his nieces and great nieces and nephews. Sonny was a man of few words, mainly love, honesty and a desire to care for those he loved.
