James Vernon Mayfield, 84, passed away 2/14/2018 in Richardson, TX. He was born August 14, 1933 in Atlanta Texas. Vernon was preceded in death by his wife Louise Mayfield, and daughter, Vickie Fox. He is survived by his daughter Teresa Temple, son John Mayfield, and grandchildren; Michael Fox, Kimberly McCaleb, Payton Mayfield and Chase Mayfield, along with 6 great-grandchildren, and brother George Mayfield. Vernon served in the Navy from 1951 – 1955. He worked for 40 years as a Bookkeeper until his retirement. He was a member of Lake Pointe Church - White Rock. Vernon was an artist, enjoyed gardening, and playing the piano and guitar. The family will receive friends at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home in Dallas on Saturday, February 17th, 2018 from 10am – 11am; following will be a funeral service at 11am. Interment will follow at Restland Memoral Park. He was loved dearly. May he rest in peace.
