

Sally Huffman of Dallas was happy and in good spirits when she passed away unexpectedly at her new home on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. She was 89 years old. Sally is preceded in death by her husband Fred W. Huffman Sr., who passed in 2004 after 57 years of marriage and is preceded by her parents Mary P. Eckman, George R. Eckman, brother Richard Eckman. She was born October 4, 1922 in Lancaster, PA and moved to Dallas in 1968 with her husband and their children. She is survived by sister Collen Gockley, devoted daughter Kathryn Huffman Zahra and husband Edward H. Zahra Jr., John D. Huffman and his wife Kay Hurder Huffman, Richard A. Huffman and Fred Huffman Jr. all of Dallas. She is also survived by her grandchildren Benjamin, Lauren and Grace Huffman who loved their “GiGi” dearly. Sally was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She spent countless hours in the garden and caring for their beautiful property on Royal Springs Drive. She had a passion for gardening, reading, restoring antique furniture, martinis, bridge and most recently anything with chocolate. Both Sally and her husband were long time members of John Calvin Presbyterian Church. A celebration of Sally’s life will be held on Thursday, January 12th at 11:00 a.m. at John Calvin Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers please donate in her name to the charity of your choice.
