

Jane Ann Logan never met a stranger. And once you met her, you never forgot her. Jane Ann had a big heart and an even bigger laugh. She was a proud Catholic who never missed Mass. Her life was centered around her family.
Jane Ann was born in Dallas, Texas, on April 16, 1941. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 7, 2021. Jane Ann was the only child of Ruth Merrick Shropshire and John Robert Peek. She was very proud that her maternal grandmother, Mariah Collins, was born in County Cork, Ireland - home of the Blarney Stone. Jane Ann was one-sixteenth Irish and always bragged about being Irish Catholic. Jane Ann’s father died when she was five. Her mother worked as a milliner and showered love on her only child.
They lived on Sanger Avenue in Oak Cliff and then on Glen Crest Drive in Dallas. Jane Ann attended kindergarten at Ursuline Academy and went to Holy Trinity Catholic School for first through eighth grade. She completed her freshman year of high school at Ursuline and then finished high school at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Jane Ann earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Texas at Arlington, where she was voted Miss Rebel Spirit (most popular). She earned a master’s degree in education from Texas Woman’s University. Jane Ann was an elementary school teacher for 55 years in the Dallas Independent School District.
Jane Ann was introduced to her husband Richard Logan by mutual friends, the Goodmans. They were married in 1966 and were always together. They were parishioners at St. Monica Catholic Church for 50 years.
Jane Ann is survived by her loving husband Richard; their three children, John Logan (wife Colleen Rutherford), Jennifer (Jeni) Baldwin and James Logan; grandchildren Jake Baldwin (fiancé Emma Gorski) and Ellie Logan (partner Sean Gomolekoff); and great-grandson Eli Gomolekoff.
The family asks that you join them to celebrate the wonderful life of this unforgettable woman.
Viewing will be Monday, July 12, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, located at 3235 Lombardy Ln. in Dallas. Mass of Christina Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13, at St. Monica Catholic Church followed by burial at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
