Janice Louise Austin Douglas was born on February 24, 1956, to the parentage of Eula Mae Smith and Willie Emmett Austin. She was a proud graduate of South Oak Cliff High School.
In the 1970s, Janice married Harold L. Douglas, and to this union, two children were born: Michael Austin and Tomeka Austin Walker.
Janice began her career in the hospitality industry, and through those experiences, she discovered her true passion—caring for others, especially those who did not have a voice, strength, or the extra care they needed. That is where Janice always stepped in. She went above and beyond not only for her clients, but for anyone in need, because that was simply the kind of heart she had.
Janice will be remembered for her compassion, her selflessness, and her unwavering love for her family and those she served. Her legacy of kindness and service will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Eula Mae Smith and Willie Emmett Austin; her husband, Harold Lee Douglas; her sisters, Ella and Beatrice; and her brothers, Willie, Jeremiah, Johnny, Donald Ray, and Billy.
Janice leaves to cherish her memory her special friend, Ronald Thomas; her son, Michael Austin; her daughter, Tomeka Austin Walker(Joe); four grandchildren, Ledarius Pope, La'Dasha Johnson(Darren), Michael Braggs (Tryniti), and Mikayla Braggs; four great-grandchildren; one sister Mozel Austin and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
