Janie L. Perkins

Janie Perkins, age 91, passed away on September 21, 2025 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on October 22, 1933 in Dallas, Texas to Charles and Billie Williams. Janie was raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1952. Growing up she was a talented artist and piano student. She studied at North Texas State (now the University of North Texas) where she took studio art courses, before meeting her husband Carlisle Perkins. The couple married in 1952 had 2 children. Janie was a proud homemaker and long-time member at Casa View Baptist Church.

Janie enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and hosting family gatherings at every holiday, cheering on the Texas Rangers, and enjoying Blue Bell ice cream. She was especially talented at gardening, and could name every flower and plant native to North Texas in an instant. Her family and friends will always remember her as warm, determined, creative, and devoted to her family and home.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Carlisle and her son Randy. She is survived by daughter Carla (Bruce) and daughter-in-law Susan, grandchildren Corey (Staci), Micah, Rachael, Ryan (Rachel), and her great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Janie will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 3, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with the committal to follow from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
