Jarvis Earl Jones Sr. was born in Dallas, Texas, on September 8, 1959, to the parentage of Luther Ray Jones Sr. and Jessie Jones. Jarvis attended Dallas public schools: Clara Oliver Elementary School, Boude Storey Middle School, and South Oak Cliff High School. After graduation, he attended Langston University in Oklahoma. Throughout his school years, he was a football and track athlete. On Sunday, July 16, 2017, Jarvis Earl Jones Sr. passed from this life to the next. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Dyas; stepfather, Floyd Dyas; and brother, Luther Ray Jones Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory: father, Luther Ray Jones Sr. (Patricia); uncle, Robert Batts Jr. (Claudia); children, Sheniqua Jones, Tomika Jones, Coreena Jones, Jarvis Earl Jones Jr., Danielle Wilson, Kimberly Wilson, and Jenay Wilson; sisters, Charise Blair, Vicki Black, Trina Johnson, and Veronica Freeman; brothers, Juan Jones (Sharon), Ricky Jones, Marc Dyas, Floyd Dyas Jr., and Derrick Evans; grandchildren, Jayla Thomas and Khalil Jones; best friends, Anthony Luckey and Greg Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
