

Dallas, TX - Jay Stephen Wimmer, 69, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024. He was born on September 28, 1954, in Slaton, Texas to Anton “Bus” and Valeria Wimmer.
Jay is survived by his wife of 38 years, Peggy Wimmer and his son, Brook Wimmer and Wife, Beth of Dallas. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Owen and Tatum Wimmer.
Additionally he is survived by his sister, Sharon Oliver and her husband, Russell of Austin; his brothers, Gary Wimmer and his wife, Judy of Longview, Dale Wimmer and his wife, Belinda of Crosbyton and Chris Wimmer and his wife, Waynette of Abernathy; his aunt, Sister Cleo Heinrich of St. Louis, MO; uncle, Royce Heinrich and his wife, Nancy of Lubbock; brother-in-law, Michael Hemphill and his wife, Norma of Plano; his sister-in-law, Patricia Burg and her Husband Bob of Portland, OR; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Corlis Pate; his aunts, Lydia Buxkemper and Sister Angelita Heinrich; uncle, Walter and Franklin Heinrich; in-laws, James And Margie Hemphill; and nephew, Russell Lee Oliver.
Jay S. Wimmer grew up on the farm in Slaton. His childhood was spent with his siblings on the farm helping his parents grow cotton. After graduating High School, he went on to attend San Angelo State where he played football with the Rams. He graduated with the class of 1976.
Following college, he began his career as an accountant for Arthur Anderson and Company. At heart, Jay was an entrepreneur, who had many business endeavors. He ended his professional career as a financial consultant at his firm Wimmer Consulting.
In his free time, Jay enjoyed spending time watching sports and flying his plane. He was a loving husband and Poppa and cherished spending time with his family and friends.
Jay was a devout Catholic whose unwavering faith served as a guiding light to all who knew him. Jay lived a life steeped in prayer, compassion, and service to others, embodying the teachings of love and kindness. His dedication to his faith was evident in every aspect of their life, touching the hearts of many and leaving a lasting impact on the community. Jay’s legacy of faith, love, and selflessness will continue to inspire and uplift all those who were fortunate enough to have known them. May he rest in peace, forever embraced by the grace of God.
The funeral service for Jay S. Wimmer will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Sparkman Hillcrest. Memorial Service will begin at 10 am in the Chapel. Celebration of Life to follow at the home of Peggy Wimmer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lymphoma Research Foundation in memory of Jay Stephen Wimmer.
