He later married Ronda, and together they had two children, Taryn and Dustyn.
Jayson proudly served for four years in the United States Coast Guard, with assignments in both Omaha, Nebraska, and Corpus Christi, Texas. While stationed in Omaha, he served aboard a Coast Guard vessel on the Missouri River before transferring to Corpus Christi, where he worked as an Aviation Structural Mechanic and a member of the search and rescue team aboard the Coast Guard Falcon jet in the Gulf of Mexico.
During his downtime in Corpus Christi, Jayson could often be found fishing with friends from various piers or beaches, casting for Redfish and Speckled Trout. He also loved spending weekends at his grandfather’s property in Goldthwaite, Texas, where he enjoyed taking his children hunting and sharing his love of the outdoors with them.
Jayson had a deep passion for growing bonsai plants and was known for his skill and patience in nurturing them. He also loved to barbecue for family gatherings and celebrations. Whenever there was an event, Jayson could always be found tending the smoker—often waking throughout the night to check on it, knowing it was just part of the process. Whether it was brisket, chicken, or pork, there was always something cooking, and he took great joy in seeing the smiles his food brought to others.
Later, Jayson and his family moved to Roanoke, Texas, where they resided for several years before he and Ronda divorced. Determined to continue growing both personally and professionally, Jayson furthered his education and went on to work as a Senior Information Security Analyst for Wellstar. He was deeply passionate about healthcare and cybersecurity, always prioritizing patient safety and the protection of sensitive information in every aspect of his work.
Jayson found great joy in his children and grandchildren, attending their many functions, celebrations, and birthdays whenever he could. His family was the center of his life, and he took immense pride in being part of their lives and accomplishments.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his devotion to family, his generosity, and the happiness he brought to everyone around him.
Jayson is survived by his children, Taryn and son-in-law Brett Haugland of Roanoke, Texas; Dustyn and daughter-in-law Hannah Stillwell of Justin, Texas; and son Preston Carron of Alaska. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Bryar Haugland, Torvi Haugland, and June Stillwell; his brother, Kevin Stillwell, and sister-in-law, Pam; his niece and nephews, Emily, Ryan, Cooper, and Connor; his stepfather, Sam Gadberry, and Lisa Gadberry; along with many other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
