

Jeanne Zoller Nicholson was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on October 15, 1930 to Marvin Edwin Zoller and Genevieve F. Pecore Zoller and died in Bullard, Texas on March 10, 2021 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dr. James H. Nicholson II, sister Sandra O’Rosky, brother John H. Zoller, and great-great grandchild Faustina Agnes Crawley. Jeanne was a lifelong resident of Dallas, Texas and eventually accompanied her daughter and son-in-law in Oregon for 6 years. East Texas ultimately called her back home where she lived her remaining days.
Survivors include children Denver Wayne Crawley and wife Deanell, Wayland Paul Crawley and wife Jean, and Cecile Antoinette “Toni” Stotts and husband Larry. Also survived by stepchildren James Nicholson III and wife Paula, Melva Jean Scott and husband Eddie, and Mary Jane Grundelman, as well as her sister Mary Grush. Grandchildren E.J. Crawley, Shea Norcross, Janay Mullan, Ross Crawley, Kimberly Crawley, Nathan Stotts, Matthew Stotts, Jenny Taylor, James Nicholson, Robyn Miller, Natalie Grundelman, George Grundelman, Austin Scott, Kimberly Crawley, and John Ross Crawley, as well as 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and an abundance of friends who loved her dearly.
Jeanne attended Kilgore College where she was an elite member of the famous “high kicking” Kilgore Rangerettes. She worked many years as an executive secretary with Vought Aeronautics and ultimately retired to work alongside her husband, Dr. J. H. Nicholson II, in his dental practice. After Dr. Nicholson’s death, she enjoyed spending her days as a receptionist for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She was a founding member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and active in numerous ministries including ACTS team, eucharistic ministry, hand bell ensemble, vocal choir, St. Elizabeth’s Circle, and was a proud member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Jeanne’s charity was well known during her time with St. Vincent de Paul and through the financial support she provided to many humanitarian and Catholic organizations.
Jeanne was an avid tennis player and competed in many tournaments over the years and loved flying with her husband in their Cessna. She was well known for her passionate competitive spirit in playing table games with her children and grandchildren, especially Chicken Foot. In later years, she enjoyed spending endless hours on large, complex jig-saw puzzles. As the matriarch of the family, her irreplaceable presence and love will be greatly missed, but she is now looking down upon us interceding in prayer for our every need.
A funeral service in memory of Jeanne Zoller Nicholson with be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 9643 Ferndale Rd, Dallas, Texas with a Rosary at 10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 pm. Graveside services and internment will be in Kilgore, Texas at a later date.
