Jerry was a third-generation Dallasite with deep roots in the community. His professional impact was profound during his 40+ years of dedicated service to the City of Dallas. He ascended through the ranks, culminating in his role as the Director of Convention & Event Services. His leadership in the building and growth of iconic Dallas landmarks like Reunion Arena, the Dallas Convention Center, Farmers Market, WRR Radio, and Union Station leave an indelible mark on the city he cherished and the millions who enjoy those venues.
Jerry's life was also marked by loving personal connections to friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents, brother and his cherished wife of 68 years, Wauscel LaRue. He is survived by his children, Bruce and Celia, and their families including six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, whom he held dear.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A graveside service for Jerry will be held Monday, June 17, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home & Hillcrest Mausoleum & Memorial Park, 7405 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75225.
