Jerry Lee Callaway

He passed away January 15, 2016 in Dallas, TX.

Jerry graduated from Wichita Falls High School before beginning his service in the US Navy. While in the Navy, he was trained as an electrician, and flew in the North Pacific and the Bering Strait while stationed in Alaska, keeping watch for Soviet submarines.

After his discharge from the Navy, Jerry moved to Dallas, TX, where he met his wife, Joyce Ridgwell. January 31, 2016 will mark their 51st anniversary of marriage. Jerry continued in his career as an electrician, and retired from TXU. He enjoyed sailing, bowling, reading and spending time with his pets.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lois Callaway; and brother, Ronnie Callaway.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; son, Steven Callaway and wife Dorothy Callaway; daughter, Andrea Hosterman and husband Clayton Hosterman; grandchildren, Claire, Kate, and Ian Hosterman; brother Donald Callaway; as well as many extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held Friday, January 22, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Grove Hill Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, his family kindly requests that memorials be made in Jerry’s honor to the American Heart Association.
