Jesse Perez was born on October the 3rd 1960 to Crispina Perez and Johnny Perez. He was the first of six children; a bundle of joy for the new parents. Those who knew Jesse know how much he loved to bring fun to any conversation. Jesse always looked at the fun side of life, it didn’t matter how dark things may have been; he could point out a funny point to make you laugh. He loved his niece’s nephews and was proud of being their “Tio” since they were born. He always tried to bring them gifts, especially around Christmas, no matter how broke he was, he made sure all of his nieces and nephews had a gift from him. Sometimes all he could afford was Dollar Store toys, but he made sure they got a gift from him.
Jesse was so excited each year to work at the State Fair of Texas. He LOVED to greet people, talk to people and help people. He would make sure that he was early to work, he took his job very seriously. He would talk about stories he encountered at the fair each year. He also tried to help his family gain access to the fair while he was working (one of the benefits of working at the State Fair). He was very well known around the fair, when he recommended food stands for us, they would give us free food because we were “Jesse’s family” and they really appreciated him for going above and beyond the call of duty to help others out.
He knew no stranger, all he needed was just a few minutes and he would be going on and on with a complete stranger at the bus stop or at the store. If you just mentioned the “Dallas Cowboys” to him, that would be enough for him to go on and on about “His Cowboys.” Of course he knew what was wrong with the Cowboys and he would tell you just how to fix it (look out Jerry Jones!). He was passionate about watching the Dallas Cowboys, he would never miss a game. Thanksgiving games were especially lively as he coached the Cowboys from our living room – even if we told him “they can’t hear you Jesse.” We are really going to miss him this next Thanksgiving, but I’m sure he will cheer on the Cowboys from heaven.
Jesse will be missed by family and friends, we will miss his fun disposition his love of life and his lively attitude. We will only be comforted by the fact that he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in his last days of pain, his suffering is over; he is now in the loving arms of God and in joyous peace forever! We will meet him in heaven and we know he will tell us all about it when we get there. We are looking forward to that. Jesse is survived by his mother Crispina, brother’s Johnny, James, sister’s Anita, Rebecca, Linda. Brother-in-laws Marco and Tim, nephew’s Mark, Adrian, Joseph and John, niece’s Alexis, and Cristina. Great nephew’s Lil Mark, Lil Adrian, and Nathan, great niece’s Alayna and Alyssa. Plus lots of aunts, uncles and cousins from Dallas, Ft. Worth, Waco, Houston, San Antonio, and Illinois.
We will see our brother in heaven when it is our time, we shall miss him dearly! Thank you all for your love and support during this difficult time!
