Rev. Jessie G Newton

Jessie Newton was born on January 24, 1939 to Will Newton Senior (preceded) and Autry Jefferson (preceded) in Gilliam, LA. He received his education in the Shreveport Primary School district. He was Ordained as a Minister, on March 19, 1985.

He accepted Christ at an early age in Shreveport, LA.

Jessie Newton was one of the First African American Owners of Newton Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc.which was founded on December 21, 1976 and remained profitable for over 35 years. After roofing Jessie became the Founder and CEO of M & J Roofing Inc. in 2005-2009 in which was a Woman Owned business by his Wife of 56 Years Corliss Jean Newton and daughter Creola M. Newton.He was the Co- founder of Rise and Shine Hot Shots 2011-2016 and his last employer was Hazel Hot Shot which he worked from May 2011- Oct. 2020.

Jessie departed this earth on December 04, 2021. He was proceeded in death by the following: his loving wife, Corliss Jean Newton in which they celebrated their union for 56 years, siblings: Ruthie Gladney, Willie Brown, Sarah Brown, Arthur Brown, Will Newton, Joe Newton, James Galbert, Archie Galbert.

He leaves to celebrate his life, love, legacy and memories his beloved children: Debra Thomas (Norris), Tommie Davis, (Regina), Alonzo L. Newton (Perdita), Creola Newton, LeiDon Blanco (Akeema) and Special Daughters, Vanessa Brown Newton, Valerie Ballard, Special Son, Tony Isaac; nineteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
