

Mr. Jessie Albert Roy was born September 26, 1950 to George A. Clark and Nellie B. Roy in Dallas, TX. He was the youngest of 10 siblings. Jessie was educated in the Dallas Independent School District. He graduated from South Oak Cliff High School – Class of 1969. Throughout his career, he held various occupations: Derns Temp Service and Texas Instruments. After dedication for 21 years, he retired from The Dallas Morning News.
Jessie accepted Christ early in life at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. He became a member of Living Testimony Baptist Church in 1995. He was ordained as a deacon on July 7, 1996. He was the church van driver and sang in the Male Chorus. Also, he was the recipient of the yearly “Artis Weaver – Perfect Attendance Award” attending Sunday School every Sunday.
He loved the word of God, attending church services, and helping others. One of his favorite sayings was “I’m trying to maintain in a world that is no longer the same”. Also, he enjoyed swimming becoming a lifeguard at Glendale Park during his early years. He was a lover of music and scary movies. One of his favorite songs was “Walk Around Heaven”. Of course, he loved to dress. Jessie treasured his family and loved them dearly. He made many lifelong friends.
Jessie was united in Holy Matrimony to Barbara Roy in 1996. He was a devoted husband for 26 blessed years.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, George Clark and Nellie B. Roy; grandparents – George Washington, Helen Scott; siblings - 6 brothers and 1 sister; Godmother, Alberta Brown
Jessie leaves those who will forever cherish his memory, his loving wife, Barbara; a son, Brandon (Christina); a daughter, Margo; step-son Randon (Tammy); grandchildren – Cameron, Makayla, Kaitlyn, Leanne; two loving sisters Vearlene, Eula; mother-in-law, Alice Weaver; three brother-in-laws, three sister-in-laws; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and special friends.
