Jimmie Lee Collins Davis, 83 of Rowlett, Texas passed away peacefully on July 20, 2017. She was born on October 9, 1933 to Charles Porter Collins and Fay Sheffield Collins in Huntington, Texas. At an early age, Jimmie accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Jimmie graduated from Huntington High School in 1951, then moved to the Dallas area. She worked many years for Southwestern Bell as an telephone operator, making many friends and acquaintances during her 20 year career. She retired in 2000. Jimmie was a member of First Baptist Church Garland and loved attending the CBS Sunday School Class as long as her health allowed. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the movies, and taking vacations with her daughter and son-in-law. Jimmie is survived by daughter Vickie Lee and husband James; granddaughter Shannon Mathis; great grandchildren Caleb and Piper; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family by marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents Porter and Fay Collins, and sister Bobbie Collins A special word of appreciation to the loving and caring staff at Abba Care Assisted Living and Total Hospice for the love and care provided to Jimmie during her final days.
