

John DeFazio, 92, Dallas, was born on August 21, 1920 and passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 2, 2013. He was born in Walston, PA, son of the late John B. and Carmella DeFazio. He is also preceeded in death by his brothers, Ralph, Larry and Tony DeFazio. In 1951 he married the love of his life, Mary Griffin who survives him after 61 years together. John was a loyal, faithful husband and a devoted father to his daughter, Patricia DeFazio Simmons. His main joys in life were his wife and family. He loved his son in law, Bill Simmons as if he were his own. He was blessed by his Granddaughters and their families which include: Patrick and Amanda Herbert and their two daughters, Annabel and Bryn and Luke and Meredith Sammons and their son which is due in July. He always said he was blessed to see his two granddaughters grow up and then see his two great granddaughters. He was so looking forward to meeting his first great grandson. John was a WWII veteran and spent 25 years in the Air Force, retiring as a Master Sargent to help Mary in their business, a daycare and pre-school. 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” We love you John, Daddy, Granddaddy, GoGo and know we will be with you again in Heaven.
