John M. McDaniel entered into rest on September 5, 2011after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, at the age of 87. He was born to William R. and Helen McDaniel in Galveston, TX. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, B. Jean McDaniel; his daughters Janet McDaniel McClelland and husband Clive McClelland, and Joan McDaniel; and grandchildren: John McClelland, Mary McClelland Thielen and husband Peter Thielen, and A. Michelle McClelland. John graduated from Ball High School in Galveston and Baylor University in Waco. After serving in the Army during World War II, he spent his professional life in the oil drilling supply business in Houston, Tehran, London and Dallas. He was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. The family would like to thank the staff of Walnut Place for their loving care. A memorial service will be held, 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 at Park Cities Baptist Church, Ellis Chapel, 3933 Northwest Parkway, Dallas, TX 75225. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4144 North Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75204.
