Josefa M. Adame

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm, Rosary at 6:00pm Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Calvary Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Calvary Hill Main Mausoleum on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10:00 am with Father Fray Luis Gerardo Arraiza and Deacon Pete Nanez of Our Lady of Lourdes, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Josefa Miranda Adame was born San Benito, Texas to Jesus V. Miranda and Josefa A. Aguirre on June 3, 1940. She went to school at Fred Booth Elementary in San Benito, Texas only until the 3rd Grade. She married Pedro Santos Adame Sr. on July 23, 1958 in San Benito, Texas. She started working as a migrant worker in the fields traveling up north. She worked for Levi’s Strauss Company for 5 years while also raising seven children. She loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Josefa will be remembered as a good homemaker with enthusiasm for enjoying life as it came; whether it be good or bad. Josefa Miranda Adame is preceded in death by her father Jesus V. Miranda, stepfather Anselmo Aguirre, sister, Graciela M. Vasquez, and 4 brothers; Alfonso Miranda, Guadalupe Miranda, Jesus Miranda and Prudencio Miranda.

Josefa M. Adame is survived by her husband Pedro Santos Adame Sr, Sons Pedro Santos Adame Jr. (Maria), Roberto Adame, Ricardo Adame Sr., Ruben Adame Sr., Carlos Adame Sr. (Teresa) and 2 daughters: Diana Banda (Martin) and Rosa Mendoza. Mother: Josefa Arenas Aguirre of San Benito, Texas. 1 Brother: Juan Miranda Sr.of Harlingen, Texas and 5 sisters: Rosa Miranda, Maria de Luna and Hortencia Rincones of Houston, Texas, Flora Medrano of San Benito Texas, and Jessica Cantu of Weslaco, Texas. Grandchildren: Leticia, Rafael, Sophia, Martin Jr, Jennifer, Liana, Tonya, Marcie, Mark, Adam, Ruben Jr, Tony, Erika, Christina, Carlos Jr. Raymundo, Ricardo Jr., Melinda, Alex, Nicole, Monica, Angie.

Pallbearers will be Ruben Adame Sr, Carlos Adame Sr, Martin Banda Jr., Rafael Garcia III, Ricardo Adame Jr., Carlos Adame Jr, and Raymundo Adame, Mark Montes.
