January 25, 1930 – May 26, 2016
Josie, as her sisters fondly called her, was born on January 25, 1930 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to parents Jerry and Antoinette Cermak. She passed from this life on May 26, 2016 in Garland, Texas. Josephine graduated from Aquinas High School in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, receiving a yearbook filled with well wishes and special quotes from teachers and numerous friends. She was very quiet but liked by all. Her one regret was never being able to play basketball there! Jo lived her life doing all the things she loved to do: coaching soccer, having coffee with friends, crocheting, knitting, various crafts, traveling on cruises with her beloved husband, reading, and her favorite of all-working Crossword puzzles and Jumbles in the paper. In all she did she made God the center of her life, through devout prayer and Rosary every morning. She had angels all around her! She never met a stranger, and had a smile for everyone, even when she wasn’t feeling her best. Her smile will be truly missed by all who knew her. God now has a very special Angel in Heaven.
She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father: Jerry and Antoinette Cermak; Sisters: Lillian Johnson; Jackie Pound; Marian Wilsey; Brother, Godfrey Cermak.
She is survived by her Husband of 59 years, Robert Wayne Hamilton; sister, Phyllis Luttrell and husband Ken; Daughters, Cindy Durkhoff and family, Mary Brayton and family, Ann Renz and family, Son, Howard Hamilton, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and friends that loved her very much.
Rosary will be 1:30pm, Friday, June 3, 2016, following by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Road, Dallas Texas, 75228. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 3900 Rowlett Road, Rowlett, Texas, 75088.
