Juanita Velez, a loving mother, was born in Dallas Texas on January 27, 1925 and passed away on November 24, 2014. Preceeded in death by her husband, Larry M. Velez of 71 years. Parents, Hilario and Lina Valtierra, sister, Angela Barron, brothers, Humberto Valtierra and Ramon Valtierra.
Juanita is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Lucy Salas. Daughters, Gina Velez, and Elizabeth Aguirre. Sons, Larry, Arthur, Michael and John Velez.
Ten grandchildren, Joseph Herrera, Matthew Aguirre, Angela Turner, Monica Gutierrez, Laticia Allen, Abbey Brown, Leeza Cruz, Allison Velez and Alec Velez. Wyatt Velez. Eleven great-grandchildren Brayden and Peyton Turner, Elijah Gutierrez, Lilliana and Gabriela Allen, Javier, Carissa and Evolet Cruz, Anna Aguirre, Sofia Brown.
Juanita will be remembered for being the best Mom, grandmother and great-grandmother that she could be. She loved travelling with her senior citizen group. She enjoyed their fellowship which brought her much joy. She was a member of Emanuel Methodist Church. Juanita was blessed with the loving support of her family and caregivers during her illness. The family would like to thank the caregivers of Heritage Hospice who made her life comfortable during these difficult times.
