

Ken was born on September 14, 1940, to Ralph and Maggie Barnes. Ken grew to be a talented athlete in both baseball and football as a young man. After High School, Ken proudly served his country in the United States Navy for approximately five years. Following his military service, Ken built a successful career as a highly respected salesman that spanned more than 50 years. Ken enjoyed many hobbies over the years, and took those hobbies seriously. He was an avid fisherman and hunter for decades, he bowled for many years, and anyone who knew Ken for the past 30 plus years knows he loved golf!
Ken was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be remembered for his love of family and friends and the many people he helped in this life.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Maggie Barnes; his brother, Jim (James Ralph) Barnes, Jr.; and his sister-in-law, Pat Barnes.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Dee Ann Barnes, whom he adored; his three sons and their wives, Wayne and Kathy Barnes, Bobby and Pam Barnes, and Kevin and Maya Barnes. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren: Tori Kennedy, Jordan Arsenault, Cameron Barnes, Alyssa Gilmore, Aubrey Barnes, Mark Barnes, Madelene Barnes, Zeno Barnes, and Zyla Barnes. Ken was also blessed with two great-grandchildren before his passing, Wells Kennedy and Tidus Barnes.

Visitation will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L.Thornton Frwy, Dallas, TX 75232, US, on March 12, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at Laurel Land Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
A Graveside Service will take place at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6300 South R.L.Thornton Frwy, Dallas, TX 75232, US, on March 12, 2026, from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
