Larry William Tinker, loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather passed away July 30 at the age of 77. Larry was born September 12, 1941 in Salinas, California to Nell and Larry Tinker. After graduating from Acalanes High School in Lafayette, CA in 1959, Larry attended Diablo Valley Community College. He then served in the U. S. Army where he was stationed in Germany from 1964 until 1966.
In April, 1966, he met the love of his life, Margaret Mary Eichelberger, while they both worked in San Francisco for IBM. They married in April, 1967 and raised three sons, traveled extensively and enjoyed many lifelong friendships. Larry never met a stranger, and his passions included playing tennis, attending Dallas Stars hockey games, teaching defensive driving classes for AARP, boating, and spending time with his family and friends.
Larry also enjoyed a successful career in the paper business, working at Appleton Papers and Maxwell Paper Company. Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Nell and Larry Tinker. He is survived by his son, William, son Jeffrey and daughter, Gabriella, and his son, Daniel and wife Audrey and their children Landon and Corinne. He is also survived by his younger brother, Doug and wife, Marilee. Donations may be made in Larry’s honor to the charity of your choice.
