
Leah Adatto Kayem, born January 8, 1920, in Seattle, Washington to Sam and Anna Perahia Adatto, passed away in Houston, Texas on March 2, 2010. Leah grew up in Seattle and attended the University of Washington. She was a very active volunteer for the American Red Cross in Dallas and Houston and enjoyed playing golf. Lee was a well known and respected businesswoman and was a devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband Hans, were generous in their giving to many organizations and charities, including, the National Jewish Health Hospital in Denver and the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Leah was preceded in death by her husband, Hans Kayem in July 1994. Survived by her four children, Curtis R. Kayem and wife Kelly of Houston, Sam A. Kayem and wife Rosemary of Colleyville, Douglas J. Kayem and wife Julie of Dallas, and Laurie Kayem Morse and husband Billy Hoggatt of Dallas; grandchildren, Robin Kayem Hancock and husband Trey, Stacey Kayem, Christopher Kayem, Samantha Kayem, Zachary Kayem, Kristen Kayem Polster and husband Matt, Max Kayem, Amanda Morse Webber and husband James, and Meredith Morse; great-grandchildren, Lucille McCullough Hancock, John William Hancock IV, Alexandra Celeste Polster, and Catherine Elizabeth Webber; sister, Jenny Tarbulus of Seattle, WA; and her sister-in-law, Adele Adatto of New Orleans, LA. Leah’s services will be private at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas.
