

He was born March 28, 1931 in Dallas to Elaine and Gus Alexander. As an Oak Cliff resident he was a graduate of W.H. Adamson High School, Southern Methodist University, and an honor graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry in 1956.
Upon graduating from Baylor he married the love of his life Aspacia Stella Kalaitzes on November 4, 1956, and began his 2 year service in the Air Force in Tokyo, Japan.
Dr. Leo practiced dentistry for 44 years in the Dallas and Duncanville area. He excelled in private practice, as an instructor at the Dental School, and in his leadership in organized dentistry. For many years he served the dental profession. His accolades include: Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, Omicron-Kappa-Upsilon Honorary Society, Vice President Texas Dental Association, Life member delegate to the American Dental Association, and Dentist of the Year 1985.
His local civic honors include president Oak Cliff Study Club, past president of Duncanville ISD PTAs, and past president of Rotary.
His dedication to his profession, family, and to his Faith as a Greek Orthodox Christian was immeasurable and never faltered. He recently received recognition as a Lifetime AHEPA 62 year member.
Leo is preceded in death by parents Elaine and Gus Alexander; and his uncle and guardian, Gus Carras.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Aspacia Stella, blessed by daughter Rebecca Francis (Michael); son, Leo Alexander (Theresa); brother, Johnny Kalaitzes (JoAnn); nephews, Jim and George Kalaitzes; and extended family and friends.
The family extends endless appreciation to the caring staffs at Methodist Hospital Dallas, Grace Presbyterian Rehab Center, Vibra Specialty Hospital, and his friend and doctor, William Howard.
Memorials may be made but not limited to Greek Orthodox Churches: Holy Trinity Dallas, St. John's Euless, Assumption Virgin Mary San Angelo, and Methodist Health System Foundation-Cardiac Care.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00pm, Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel with Trisagion at 6:30pm. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Rd, Dallas, TX 75240. Graveside service will be held at 3:00pm, Friday, June 7, 2013 at Fairmount Cemetery, San Angelo, TX.
